Hi My name is Hari Om Tripathi. I am an engineer by chance & a Certified Financial Planner by choice. Residing in Kanpur & blogging full time for Financial Kundali.

It all began in early 2010 when I was pursuing M.B.A. in Wealth Management. An agent approached & pitched a policy. The agent told me the in & out of the policy but he was not able to answer my few simple questions like:

• What is the actual rate of interest?

• Why a person with zero liabilities would need this policy?

• Why to go for a policy when we can buy an online insurance plan at much cheaper rate & there were many unanswered questions?

I was totally confused. The idea of buying the policy was dropped & I began my research. I approached few more agents of some other companies but none were able to answer my questions & their main concern was to sell their product.

Finally, i decided to read the fine prints of the policy & understand how it works. Mis-selling of financial products is so common these days. Seeing the huge disconnect between what people need & what is sold to them, I decided to bridge the gap and started writing a blog on various financial products.

During this tenure I completed my certifications from Financial Planning Standards Board of India in:

• Retirement Planning

• Insurance Planning

• Tax Planning

• Investment Planning

To further enhance my knowledge in Mutual Fund & Insurance Products, i completed certification courses from:

Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI)

Insurance Regulatory & Development Authority (IRDA)
